Born in Bath, Somerset, England, she is an actress of Indian and Swiss descent. She trained as a stage actress at the famous Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) in London from 1992 to 1995, and had never appeared in a film role prior to her debut in 'Kama Sutra: A Tale of Love'.

Having recently finished her role as Niobe in HBO's mini-series 'Rome' and co-staring in 'Basic Instinct 2' as Denise Glass, Indira latest role is in Torchwood, the new funny spin-off of the Doctor Who television series.
